Deimos-One CEO Jamin Thompson Named Winner at 2025 Top Tech Awards

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, October 22, 2025 – Deimos-One, a leading aerospace and defense technology company, today announced that founder and CEO Jamin Thompson has been named the 2025 Top Tech Awards winner in the Startup Company category by Vegas Inc in partnership with Cox Business.

The recognition highlights Thompson’s work building Deimos-One from an early-stage concept into a mission-driven space technology company developing next-generation stratospheric and planetary exploration systems out of Southern Nevada.

From its Las Vegas base, Deimos-One is designing high-altitude platforms and autonomous vehicles intended to make near-space and deep-atmosphere environments accessible to researchers, defense partners, and commercial operators.

“Our goal at Deimos-One is simple but not easy: to turn near-space into a usable layer of infrastructure and treat hostile planetary atmospheres as places we can actually work,” said Jamin Thompson, founder and CEO of Deimos-One. “Being recognized in a city that’s rapidly becoming a serious tech hub means a lot to our team. This award isn’t a finish line, it’s a signal that Nevada can be home base for truly ambitious aerospace missions.”

Deimos-One’s current roadmap includes high-altitude balloon and aerobot systems capable of operating at the edge of space, as well as technology intended for long-duration flight in extreme environments such as the upper atmosphere of Venus. The company is advancing a suite of hardware and software platforms focused on:

  • Stratospheric observation and testbeds for defense, climate, and research payloads
  • Autonomous flight systems for long-endurance missions in near-space environments
  • Planetary atmospheric explorers, including aerobot concepts engineered for Venus-class conditions

The Top Tech Awards honor technology leaders who drive innovation and economic growth across Southern Nevada. Thompson’s selection in the Startup Company category underscores both Deimos-One’s technical ambitions and the emergence of Las Vegas as a launchpad for deep-tech ventures. His win was also featured in a special Vegas Inc publication distributed with Las Vegas Weekly.

“Deimos-One exists because we believe the future of exploration won’t be limited to rockets and snapshots from orbit,” Thompson added. “It’s going to be persistent platforms, continuous data, and systems that can live where humans can’t. We’re building that layer now, and we’re doing it from here in Nevada.”
